KiDULTHOOD

Representations of Britain, age, gender and class are shown in this description of the darker side of London.

The use of high violence, drugs and alcohol describes this area of london to be be a hell hole and the social issues that are highlighted in the film through violence amongst young rival crews and even drug/violence threats between family members shows that young people in this area are struggling on a day to day basis and end up having grow up far quicker than people could even imagine.
Britishness.
There are representations of UK hip hop and the set is based around the urban community in London, we see a contrast between the people and the locations when a scene is shown with the crew walking down Oxford street, they walked in to a shop and an uproar is created this looked like a bold statement from the store manager toward the black teenager and so racial issues were also shown as a major factor in this are of London.we also see the younger lad talking to an older higher class woman, this shows huge contrast between them and represents both gender and class.
